Education is the transformation of norms and values from generation to generation; it’s an articulation of human competence and intelligence after formal as well as informal learning process. Articulation of skills through mode of education in best version of learning is a definitive self-governing of academia. Human beings are always investigative to find and ascertain new actualities and realities about different features of life either as science student or as a common learner. Education pays and plays great milestone in development and progress of any country, their standard of education depicts and represents their real essence of advancement and innovations.

Millions of students are formally learned in different academia, they also entertain what is feasible and suitable along with their academic purpose without proposing as per their criteria is concerned. Academics and academia have a vital role to pay towards reservation of moral and genuine values of any nation, as Nelson Mandela quoted that education is an only weapon to promote progress or to make any nation regressive. Education merely considered as one of social institution for the admission of excelling role and role model for others either as a nation, a community or a society. Ultimately a most educated nation and comprehensive education system build a nation to be followed by other nations as a role model.

Students are always considered as an asset for development and progress for a country, students’ life is not an easy one, they have to suffer a lot from dawn to dusk till several turns of time to gain academic as well career goals.
Due to poverty and economic disorder our beloved country suffers lots of social problems which are source of other social problems. Students must be guided and treated as the loved ones, burden of study, loads of academics and difficulties to reach the educational institutions are also some headaches of students.
Pakistan is under developing country, where education is very expensive, there are limited number of public universities, colleges and schools where students can get free education. Absence of students’ education in one’s life can create serious thunders of difficulties to sustain the life joyfully.
Students are always wrapped with many problems like language, fear complex, transport, psychological problems and list is bit long.
Economically problems are also great hindrances for students to receive quality education as they intended and desire to achieve their goals as per set with accordance. When academics and academia are observed with formal and informal trends of leanings, it seems like a building of dreams without fulfillment of those thoughts. Some time students-teacher relationship does not make a strong bond for learning sensibly for the future concerns, if individuals would not be the educated and literate ones then they will add the oxygen in illiteracy rate and poverty, which will decisively create the economic disorder. As many students are source of feeding their families, their difficulties must be addressed as priority by government and state. Students also face the difference, which are set out by curriculum and outdated syllabus with respect to gender, race, religious aspects as well, which usually penetrate students and some time they skip and quite to get education. Students have to learn and recall all unwanted things to pass the exam to get their paper called degree or certificate of school. Along with syllabus, Exam patterns are not healthy, Sindh is in circle of copy and cheating trends during the exams of schools and colleges, sometimes universities become helpless to stop cheating patterns, there are so many reasons and causes as nothing can happen without motivation. Then question arises that, what is feasible and possible solution of students’ problem? Who and by whom these headache will become eradicated? As legislation is full of education policies with huge gaps and flaws, a comprehensive and systematic educational policy is need of time, outdated syllabus and curriculum must be of contemporary in nature
Education must not be an economic institute of banking system, like pay the payment and get receipt. It should be a primarily an academic institution for the comprehensive learning.
Students’ life is the life of horrors over bed of troubles and pains. This figure of fear complex remains dominant over the years in the life of a student. So, it should be made compulsory,  When a policy or legislation is going to reform , students and their overall life styles with respect to region, community and race must be considered as prioritize basis.
Moreover, Infrastructure and transportation must be well equipped and of advance nature. Facilities including basic needs must be entertained with complete set of accessibility and accessories for the future assets of country. Students must be treated as learners by teachers and administration of institute not as the prisoners and teachers must be considered as a guide and mentor ones not labelled them with inappropriate tags.
Conclusively, it is opted to mention the sad reality of life span of student invests against academics and career must be worth full after his/her certificate or degree.
Future depiction of progressive and advance Pakistan can made possible by facilitating and assisting students at every stage of their academic and career.
Career counselling must be on first page for the students, as they can avail best of their skills and expertise to gain sustainable aims and objectives of their lives.
Whole society members including parents, teachers, neighbors and responsible of state, have to collectively pay and play the role of good efforts to improve the life of students towards reformist and technologically advanced beloved Pakistan.

A Comprehensive and Rational view point of Gender disparity among students.

A Comprehensive and Rational view point of Gender disparity among students.
Writer: Ajmal Meer Mehdi (Hyderabad)

Gender Discrimination is all about the Gender disparity in general, refer to the gap indicated by differentiate preferences between male and female in any field of life.
Gender discrimination is the type of discrimination which based on the gender of the person. Usually women are treated differently and unequal than men for their education, career, economic advancement and political influences. It is common type of discrimination that is happening throughout the world, even in the developed countries too.
Education plays vital role in students’ personality, abilities and behavior. all the way in the course of education it is treated as in multiple communities; female is inferior and male as dominant because of restriction and decision in hand of male with respect to economic resources. Teaching techniques and methods are not on equal basis, so for reason female gender considered in several reasons as not a worth for family. Coeducation plays due role to promote equity with dispersion of intentions imposed on the prioritized label of being dominant and inferior on the basis of gender either male or female as in our social world they are labialized. Academia and intuitional insecurity enhances this issue as headache of society.
Marriages and rewards are also set out as difference between male and female, hierarchical system may also influences and depicts some addition crucially to gender disparity.
According to global campaign for education (GCE) that only 4 in 10 of Pakistani women over the age of 15 can read and write as compared to 70% of men the net rate for girls is 29%.
Violation against women in the form physical, sexual, emotional abused is wide spread in Pakistan strict family tribe and religious customs mean that some intimidating activities have become cultural norms, while domestic violence seldom reported and rarely investigated according to report.
Gender discrimination is serious issue of academic institutions of our county, inequality with respect to opportunities, decision making, authority, privilege and power in a society pertains to society desperately awarded to male head of family; institutional socialization depicts that the male dominance in our society is caused by labeling female as inferior and weak since the day she was born, as days passes she became a tool like property for male dominant family or community. It is not judgment in each and every family or community economically impacts and diverts the power of decisions and sole authority of institution as well as family.
Gender disparity creates masses of difficulties and matters which ultimately disturbs the societal values and social control. Gender difference must be respected but not treated as the weak point of other gender. Almost more than 45 public and private universities, their campuses in Sindh province, many of universities are in HEC certified list, universities cover quality education at certain level and pay due standards on the basis of gender. University of Sindh is one of the oldest university of Pakistan as well Asia, which aims gender equality with respect to academic perspective, there are some exception and cases are reported in the criteria of gender disparity, broad perspective depicts common reasons of students being harmed on the basis of gender which ultimately resulted in ground realities pertaining to rural and remote areas in many reasons. Reasons and causes are varying from community to community and geographically concerns. Coordination between students and teachers, lack of modern means of communication, absence of modern tools of education may be reasons for gender disparity. Gender discrimination is not only particularly referred to female harassment or discrimination; it is also faced by male teachers and students too. Gender disparity in general, refer to the gap indicated by differentiate preferences between male and female in any field of life. In the context of education gender disparity refers to the gap between enrollment of male and female students in the educational institutions. Gender disparity is deeply enrooted in our society because of particular mind set due to their vested interested either considered to individuals, groups and institutions. By resolving this disastrous problem we can open the new gates of development and social progress which ultimate strengthen the social norms and values of society. Gender differences as its own significance as general considerations. Violation against women in the form of physical, sexual, emotional abused is wide spread in Pakistan, strict family tribe and religious customs mean that some intimidating activities have become cultural norms while domestic violence seldom reported, and rarely investigated.
Gender discrimination is a worldwide issue; this problem is not only an obstacle before opportunities and resources but also creates other social problems. Students study in higher classes e.g. M.Phil., Ph.D. and post doctorate have less gender differences. Significant of the gender variable points to the impact of gender disparity over academic and professional institutions. The institutions where gender equality is enhanced there is significant economic growth. Disputing UN instructions, sustainable development goals and international agreements about gender equality, yet Pakistan failed to achieve UN targets. The enrollment of females and male are directly affected by income of house, expenditures of household and authority of house. In these factors ultimately females are affected in less number of enrollments for females due to make dominance because of income encourage gender discrimination in various means, ultimately create least number of enrollment of females in education institutions. Females are more victim than males in educational, academic institutions and Equity in opportunities for both genders discourage the disparity. Due to gender disparity Students’ performance is affected by gender differences. Gender disparity is regulated by cultural norms and values. In the course of this issue, it is instigated that majority of females are harassed in educational institutions and difference in socialization leads gender disparity. Restriction of parents for females, increase the rate of illiteracy and ignorance as well. Equal rights in decision making for both genders create positive impact. Socialization through social intuitions must be comprehensive and of systematically in nature, purely enrooted to humanitarian grounds. Ends will make up a charming figure of community and as well as for society which eventually adds to development, prosperity and progress to state or country. The making of polices is a good efforts but its implementing is main cause and on other hand there is a civil society who can play vital role against gender discrimination and legislation for this burning issue of society. Equity and equality must be gone together in every educational and academic institution and Educational reforms must be appropriated in order to facilitate students on the equal basis without considering their gender. The male dominance, poverty, injustice, inequality in opportunities causes this increasing issue as disquieting situation in Pakistan. The gender discrimination is increasing rapidly among students of universities, which is crucially bad condition for the country as students are future of Pakistan. Some factors like political influence, lack of good governance, socialization by parents and poverty accelerates the gender disparity. Gender discrimination can be addressed through proper measures with suitable legislation.

Mother of All ills and evils, Poverty promoting all other societal problems

Mother of All ills and evils, Poverty promoting all other societal problems
Writer: Ajmal Meer Mehdi, Hyderabad.

Today, world is global village, technology has manipulated the highest advancement and modernization in the name of science and computer. All the people of world are enjoying and entertaining the fruits of technology and its innovations. Still millions are looking for to entertaining the life and charms of this mortal world. One billion people in the world are living on less than one dollar a day. 2.7 billion People in the world are living on less than two dollars a day, (World Bank, 2014). Eleven million children die every year. 114 million children do not able to achieve basic education and 584 million women are illiterate. In every year, Six million children die due to malnutrition. Every day 800 million people stay hungry in which 300 are children. 2.6 billion People of the world’s population (40 percent) are depriving from basic sanitation and one billion people are suffering to unsafe drinking water (UN Millennium Project, 2002). The areas of inequality such as unequal status of women and minority groups of low developed countries represent this aspect of poverty. As a result, rich people continue to prosper while poor people lag behind. In the global scenario, in the last 30 years economic growth has occurred but along with the portion of poor people also increased. In 1960 the income of 20% of the richest countries has 30 times more than that of 20% of the poorest countries. It was 60 times greater in 1990. Only 20% of the world income is receiving by world poorest countries that are residing in poorest countries. Thus in the last three decades the difference between the rich and poor has increased. Income distribution between rich and poor is unequal. Rich people 1000 million are 150 times are richer than the poor people of 1000 million. The access of these poor people is limited. They have only 0.2% access loans made by commercial banks, 1.3% access to international investment, 1% access to international trade and 1.7% access to international income. (World Bank report, 2014). Pakistan is wheel of social problems faced by common people in every aspect of their lives. Poverty in Pakistan is day by day growing because of social problems which are tolerated by citizens of country like illiteracy, over population, crime, economic disorder, environmental degradation etc.
Under developed countries face this problem as obstacle in development and progress. Poverty creates shocking consequences which enhances the other problems along with worse outcomes. Poverty is challenging issue for any state or country as it possesses the roots for other issues which are also dangerous problems for country. The poverty should be addressed national as well as regional level by taking serious measures.
Poverty is rapidly increasing problem of our society which has created the economic disorder and environmental degradation in country. Poverty is hazardous be it in any form relative, absolute, objective and subjective
poverty. Poor people are suffering from the hundreds of other social problem in their daily lives. Poverty is the persistent challenge facing Pakistan since its inception. The poverty issue of Pakistan is increasing more in rural areas where almost 70% of the population is living. Their livelihoods depend on rural economy. They have lack of basic necessities such as primary health care, education, safe drinking water and deteriorating social services. The income gap between haves and have-nots is increasing. Some provinces have more inequality, gender bias and lack of geographic and spatial capital. Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) is a common measure of poverty. Poverty lines are drawn on the basis of goods that satisfy a person for his basic needs. The units of these goods are converted into PPP. Furthermore, a head count ratio is calculated to represent the percentage of poor people in the total population. Poor people have no sufficient economic opportunities, deprived from representation and no access of information due to corruption of their countries. Corruption decrease the trust of poor people for public officials, increase cost of public services, hinder economic growth, increase inequality, violation of human rights and supersedes the rule of law. Corruption hurts the social, economic and political future of a country. In the country where bribery, favoritism, nepotism and manipulations are prevailed then the fabric of developed society are weaken. Corruption is looming almost all segment of Pakistan and poor people are losing their money and confidence due to dreadful practice of corruption. Development is being impeded where lack of accountability, corruption, human rights violation, defiance of rule of law and military influence. Poor governance is a key cause of poverty in Pakistan. Political instability and corruption which are the result of bad governance have declined business confidence, decrease economic growth and declining public expenditure on basic needs. As a result, investment and development was decreased while poverty is increasing. The political structures where influential individuals have the approach in the political instaurations using political power to grant privileges and appoint people to position those are not suitable according to their capabilities and merit, making the country damage. Extended patrilineal families or lineages, personal recommendation or influence and traditional patron client relations are harming the governance. The world is becoming advance and we still suffered in the basic problems, depending on aid and playing in the hands of coups. The increase diseases are not only reducing efficiency and power, but they also have the effect of reducing life expectancy. The reduced life expectancy means less number of working force, less incomes and less production. Moreover, majority of women in Pakistan command a very miserable and poor health standard.
